The temperature of Clothing can be dropped significantly through the phase transition of liquid water to water vapor (evaporation). The combination of unique fabrics used, creates a water management system. The unique HyperKewl Cooling fabric absorbs, stores and releases water within the multi-layered material. Water is released through evaporation, energy is consumed, and a chill effect is created. The HyperKewl Cooling fabric actually cools the body the same way the body cools itself through evaporation. When the vests are worn over a shirt or uniform – undergarments will remain dry due to the waterproof lining. The item will start cooling immediately and will stay cool for up to 4-10 hours depending on the airflow. HyperKewl™ (CE-certified) products utilizes a unique chemistry to achieve rapid absorption and stable water storage. The chemical formulation also creates enhanced evaporation. Users can expect the evaporative cooling fabric to provide temperatures that are 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the ambient temperature, depending on airflow.
Q: Is HyperKewlfabric safe?
A: Yes. It contains non-toxic polymer. See our MSDS under “Documents”.
Q: How does it work?
A: Our HyperKewl is sewn into the lining of all our garments. The special fabric absorbs water very quickly and releases it very slowly for extended cooling from evaporation.
Q: How long do I hydrate the garments?
A: 1-2 minutes.
- Simply dunk the item in water for approximately 1 – 2 minutes
- Gently squeeze out the excess water
